About

The Association of Metro Edmonton Japanese Community School (MEJCS) is a not-for-profit society in the province of Alberta, and was established on March 15, 1977.  The MEJCS is run by a volunteer board.  The board is supported by adult members and parents of students to achieve the goals of the organization.

Aspects related to teaching are handled by our teaching staff, under the guidance of the school principal.  The principal and board work together to ensure quality of school programming and accountability.

The Japanese school offers classes at grade levels: Junior Kindergarten, Senior Kindergarten, and grades 1-9.

The membership and school year at MEJCS runs from April 1 to March 31.  Summer break is July and August.
